Description:

Crossing IP and broadcast worlds, interactive digital television is bringing new opportunities for telecom operators like Belgacom Group. Launched in July 2005, Belgacom TV product is the only national DTV player on the Belgian market. Belgacom TV product portfolio is already quite large, offering more than hundred channels, exclusive Belgian football packages, video-on-demand content & interactive services.

The UIM will work in this new media environment being responsible for the successful implementation of graphical user interface on the Belgacom TV platform.

The UIM is a non-technical position but with good understanding of technology responsible for overseeing and producing design, functionality, documentation and implementation of everything impacting the end user experience.

Tasks:

• Articulate, develop, and model the end user experience vision.
• Develop conceptual models, process flows, navigational maps and strategies.
• Create UI design proposals by working with designers to create mock-ups, and produce detailed feature specifications.
• Work closely with application developers and product managers to define user models and manage the implementation of these features.
• Analyze and oversee analysis of business requirements from other departments for UI impact and rapidly iterate through UI design proposals to meet these requirements.
• Ensure that other project team members understand the implications of functional and usability requirements.
• Ensure that design specifications accommodate realistic technical parameters and constraints.
• Work as peer with cross-media usability team and validate every proposal with them.
• Follow brand guidelines and meet established usability standards.
• Maintain cutting edge knowledge of current and emerging technologies, industry trends and standards.

Profile
Native Dutch or French speaking and can fluently speak in Dutch, French and English.
Minimum two years experience in user interface design in one of the following industries: hardware manufacturer, electronic device manufacturer, software or multimedia production or broadcast industry.
Proven success managing new projects from conception through design, implementation and profitable operation.
Ability to manage multiple projects in an emerging and fast moving market
Excellent oral and written communications skills
