About

What is SIGCHI.be?
SIGCHI.be is the Belgian branch of SIGCHI, the premier international society for professionals, academics and students who are interested in human-technology and human-computer interaction (HCI).

We want to increase knowledge and awareness of HCI in its broadest sense, both within educational institutions and industry.

Who are we?

The starting committee of SIGCHI.be is made up of a mix of people from both industry and academia:
- Els Aerts, AGConsult
- Hans De Mondt, Alcatel
- David Geerts, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven
- Karl Gilis, AGConsult
- Kris Luyten, Universiteit Hasselt
- Chris Raymaekers, Universiteit Hasselt
- Joannes Vandermeulen, Namahn
- Johan Verhaegen, Human Interface Group

So far, the scales are tipping over to the Flemish side. But that doesn’t mean we don’t welcome members from the Walloon region as well. So come on, you Walloons!

Why join SIGCHI.be?

SIGCHI.be wants to reach out to everyone who’s interested in HCI on a professional level.

Our web site and events will make sure you get or stay in touch with colleagues who share your interests and enthusiasm for HCI.

At our members-only events, the soon to be famous SIGCHI.be Interactions, you will have a chance to share your experiences with colleagues who share your enthusiasm for HCI.
